Meet Merry Maids leadership:
Laura Hendricks, President
Laura is responsible for the leadership, vision, performance and stewardship of Merry Maids. She associates and franchise owners at every level to use their backgrounds and resources to build the company.
Laura comes to Merry Maids from Cintas, where she served as vice president beginning in 2005 and joined the company as the regional business director in 2000. Laura knows what it means to work hard and respects those who do. She started her career more than 20 years ago as a courier for FedEx in Harrisburg, Penn. In less than two years, she earned a managerial role in York, Penn. Laura consistently moved up the ranks within FedEx, serving as operations manager, the senior manager, and finally she was managing director of operations for FedEx in Cincinnati, where she was responsible for 17 locations throughout Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia. While at FedEx, in 1996 and 1999, Laura received the Five Star Award for outstanding performance and contribution, an award given only to the top performing 5 percent of the company. Hendricks holds a liberal arts degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati. She is also certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt and has received her Total Quality Management certification.
Chip Fullerton, Vice President of Franchise Operations,
Chip started with Merry Maids as a branch manager in Mequon, Wisc., in 1995. However, he has been a member of the ServiceMaster family since 1988 when he joined the company as housekeeping supervisor.
In his current position, Chip manages a team of regional franchise support managers who assist the 370 U.S. franchise partners in reaching their full potential by focusing on people and processes.
Chip holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration, with an emphasis in management, and minor studies in computer information systems and the Bible. He is also certified as a Six Sigma Certified Green Belt.
Jim Larivee, Vice President of Marketing
Jim is responsible for Merry Maids' marketing strategy and overall brand development efforts.
Jim brings a unique mix of marketing experience to Merry Maids. His 25-year marketing career includes stints with advertising agencies in the Boston area where he worked in a variety of business-to-consumer and business-to-business clients. Then he worked in marketing for some of the most well-known restaurant franchise organizations. Most recently, Jim served as a regional marketing director for Wendy's International, Inc.
Jim has proven his ability to work with franchise owners to respect their needs and rights as small-business owners, while still focusing on building brand awareness and consistency.
"My role is to build strong relationships with franchise owners, as well as with other internal and external business partners to continue to drive profitable sales and build a world-class brand," Jim says.
Jim, originally from Maine, is a graduate of State University of New York, where he was raised. He also earned a master's degree from Emerson College in Boston.
Micah Newhouse, Vice President of Continuous Improvement and Training
Micah is responsible for training, continuous improvement, and he oversees the Resource Center, Merry Maids' product and equipment
supply department.
He has been with ServiceMaster for more than 14 years and joined Merry Maids in 1997 as one of three regional managers for the company-owned locations. He then moved into the role of senior director of operations supporting both franchise owners and branch managers.
In 2002, Micah accepted the position as Merry Maids' first Six Sigma Black Belt and Deployment Champion. He was certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt in November 2003. Micah has led Merry Maids' continuous improvement activities, training and oversees many of our pilots and metric development.
"My role is to provide our organization -- franchise owners to team members -- with the right training, processes, and equipment to do their work efficiently and exceed our customers' expectations," Micah says. "It's all about giving people what they need to be their best."
Micah grew up in Indiana, where he earned his bachelor's degree from Taylor University, and he later earned a M.B.A. from Oklahoma City University.
Carl Elliott, Vice President, Information Technology Carl directs a team of talented programmers and support technicians to develop proprietary software and oversee its implementation in franchise and branch operations.
Carl joined the company in 2004 as senior director of information technology. Carl's experience with technology applications in different settings from large corporations to his own consulting business gives him a well-rounded perspective on technology.
"Information technology must give business leaders easy access to the information needed to make decisions," Carl says. "It's our job to provide those tools and to continue to seek opportunities to upgrade our systems to provide better interaction with our customers, our franchises and our associates. And this is in addition to making sure daily operations run smoothly and efficiently." Carl holds a bachelor's degree in management information systems, and a master of business administration, both from the University of Memphis.
Sherry Rose, Vice President, Branch Operations
Sherry is responsible for the support and direction of the company-owned locations.
Sherry joined the company in January 2004, as vice president of sales and marketing where she led the marketing group to further shape brand consistency. Before joining Merry Maids, she worked at Jenny Craig, where she gained 13 years of extensive experience in training, operations, sales and marketing. Weight loss, like maid service, is a very personal and intimate customer experience. Sherry's consumer insight and customer experience are uniquely in sync with Merry Maids.
As a working woman with a family, Sherry understands our commitment to provide the welcome relief of knowing your whole home is completely and totally cleaned. "I help find real solutions that help homes run smoothly," she says. "I feel like I contribute to the balance and order Merry Maids brings to a family in a world that is sometimes the opposite."
Sherry is from Acushnet, Mass. She received her B.A. in psychology from Wheaton College in Norton, Mass.
Richard Landry, Vice President of Finance
Richard is responsible for accounting practices, financial controls (budgets), cost and general accounting.
"The accounting and finance function needs to ensure accurate and timely information is maintained and reported," Richard says. "This helps allow owners to properly monitor and manage their businesses. The accounting team will always strive to maintain processes and procedures that allow for success while maintaining the highest level of integrity."
Richard earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas.
