• If you can't put it away, it's clutter. So divide it into three groups: junk, charity and undecided. Toss the first, give away the second and store the third in a box or bag until you can decide whether it's really worth keeping.

• Microfiber works well for trapping and removing dust rather than just moving it around.
• Use microfiber cloths on mop heads for tasks such as dusting hard-surface floors.
• For mirrors, secure two microfiber cleaning cloths. Dampen one to get dirt off and follow up with a dry one to shine to perfection.
• When microfiber cloths become soiled, simply drop them in the washer and hang to dry. Do not use fabric softener with microfiber as it will damage its cleaning capabilities.

• Vacuum and dust mop regularly to prevent dirt from building up and damaging the surface.
• Use a vacuum cleaner with a dust brush attachments to clean cloth items such as lampshades or valances.
• Vacuum your mattresses and box springs at least twice a year.
• Keep your vacuum well maintained. Check bags and seals to prevent dust from blowing back into the air.
